Will It Fit Through the Door? What to Measure Before You Buy

Nobody carries an assembled sofa through a door - they carry a box, or they carry modules. The question that actually matters before buying is what the shipping packaging measures, and GAOMON's own listings mostly don't state that.

Why the assembled size is usually the wrong number

It's tempting to compare a product's stated length against a doorway's width and call it settled. That works for a single rigid crate. It doesn't work for most of the largest pieces in this range, because what actually arrives at the door usually isn't the assembled piece - it's a box, or several. The sizing page runs this check on five products and resolves every one to n/a, for three different reasons, not one blanket dash.

Three different situations, three different actions

Modular (the 136 in sectional). Ships in several packages and is assembled from parts on site, per the manufacturer - no single piece is ever carried through a doorway at its full 136 in. There's nothing to check here; the question doesn't arise.

Compressed (the 78.7 in sofa bed). Ships folded and compressed in one box, per the manufacturer, and needs 72 hours to expand after unpacking. Its assembled sofa and bed-mode dimensions are published and shown on its own product page, but the box that actually goes through the door is smaller than either - and its own dimensions aren't published. This is the case to ask the seller about directly if a doorway or stairwell is unusually tight.

Unpackaged (the 78 in table, the 70 in TV stand, the 47 in dresser). All three require assembly, per their own listings, but none states how many boxes they ship in or those boxes' dimensions. An assembled 78 in table obviously will not go through a 32 in door - but it doesn't have to, since it's delivered in parts. What actually needs to clear the doorway is unpublished.

What to measure before ordering

Three numbers, regardless of what a listing publishes: the narrowest doorway or turn between the delivery entrance and the final room, the ceiling height at any stairwell landing the piece has to pivot through, and - if a specific product's packaging size genuinely isn't published anywhere - a message to the seller through the Amazon listing asking for carton dimensions before ordering. Guessing at a box size from the assembled dimensions is not a substitute for that.

What this guide won't do

It won't estimate a shipping-carton size from the assembled dimensions. A flat-packed dresser or table typically ships in a box close to its longest assembled dimension but thinner - true often enough to be a useful mental model, not precise enough to publish as a number this site stands behind.

Questions

Which products in this range get a real doorway verdict?

None currently - all five of the largest products resolve to n/a, each for a stated reason. See the sizing page for which reason applies to which product.

Does the modular sectional need a doorway check?

No - it ships in several packages and is assembled from parts on site, per the manufacturer, so no single piece needs to pass through a door at its full 136 in.

What should I do if my doorway is unusually narrow?

Message the seller through the product's Amazon listing and ask for the shipping carton's own dimensions before ordering - this site does not have that figure for the sofa bed, the table, the TV stand or the dresser.
